On Friday, ARK Invest made a notable investment in Coinbase Global, acquiring approximately $15 million in shares across multiple exchange-traded funds (ETFs). This purchase included 66,545 shares via the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), 16,832 shares through the Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW), and 9,477 shares in the Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF), as reported in the firm's daily trade disclosures.
Coinbase's stock experienced a significant increase, closing at $164.32, reflecting a rise of about 16.4% for the day, with further gains in after-hours trading. The investment in Coinbase coincided with ARK's also expanding its stake in Roblox Corporation across its ETFs. Roblox shares ended the trading day near $63.17.
This new round of purchases follows a recent reduction in ARK's Coinbase holdings, where the firm sold about $17.4 million in stock on February 5 and an additional $22 million on February 6. Coinbase had faced challenges in the previous quarter, reporting a net loss of $667 million for Q4 2025.
