Google is developing a new Fitbit tracking band, similar to the popular Whoop band, which has been subtly promoted by basketball star Steph Curry. Since January, Curry has been seen wearing this device, which lacks a screen and features a sleek design similar to existing Fitbit products. The device, resembling the Google Performance Band for the Pixel Watch, has been featured in various social media posts and press events.
A recent report highlights the functionality of the new band, suggesting it will integrate with the Fitbit app to display metrics such as Cardio Load, heart rate, calories burned, and elapsed workout time. This feature appears to be designed for a seamless user experience, although it has not yet been officially launched. The exact release date for the new Fitbit band remains uncertain.
In addition to this new device, Fitbit is expanding its Public Preview program to more countries, enhancing features like VO2 Max tracking and access to U.S. health records. The latest update for Fitbit includes logging capabilities for water, food, and mood, alongside improvements in sleep tracking.
