Mouse: P.I. For Hire, an eagerly awaited indie first-person shooter, is set to launch on Thursday for $30. Developed by Polish studio Fumi Games, the game combines a nostalgic animation style reminiscent of the 1930s with a gritty narrative typical of noir fiction.
Players step into the shoes of Jack Pepper, a war veteran turned detective, as he navigates the contrasting worlds of Mouseburg's elite and its criminal underbelly. The storyline is rich with classic noir themes, such as political corruption and a femme fatale character, all while maintaining a playful cartoon aesthetic.
The game has been in development for several years, generating anticipation through various trailers and teasers. Inspired by legendary noir author Raymond Chandler, Fumi Games aimed to authentically capture the essence of detective stories, merging light-hearted elements with traditional noir tropes.
