Airbnb is enhancing its user experience through a focused effort on artificial intelligence, as announced by CEO Brian Chesky during a recent earnings call. The company is currently testing an AI-powered search tool that provides a more intuitive way for guests to inquire about listings and locations, aimed at improving booking experiences.
Chesky noted that this AI search is available to a limited number of users and is part of a broader plan to develop an "AI-native experience" for both guests and hosts. The company has not specified when the tool will be available to all users, but it promises to enhance the search functionality throughout the trip.
Furthermore, Airbnb introduced an AI chatbot last year that manages customer service inquiries, currently assisting users in North America. This chatbot is reported to handle a third of requests autonomously, with plans to expand its capabilities and global reach within the next year.
