Valve has introduced a new feature in the Steam Beta that allows users to include their PC specifications when posting game reviews. This addition aims to provide clarity on whether performance issues are linked to the hardware or the game itself, enhancing the overall review process.
Reviewers can now select an option reading "Attach PC specs to this review," which will display their system details alongside their feedback. This change is intended to minimize confusion regarding game performance, especially as users increasingly seek to understand how well a game will operate on their specific setups. The feature is optional, ensuring that users can choose whether to share their hardware information.
Additionally, Valve is monitoring average frames per second (FPS) data, currently available only on SteamOS. This initiative will help assess game compatibility more effectively, particularly for the Steam Deck. The FPS tool will send anonymized data to Valve, contributing to the company's efforts to validate claims about game performance on various systems.
